Error when using a stored procedure in OLE DB source

I am trying to use a stored procedure in the OLE DB source, I am using the SQL Command for the Data Access mode. if i'm not mistaken, the sql native client provider (SQLNCLI.1) only works with sql server 2005.

if you are using a different version of sql server, then try using the microsoft ole db provider for sql server (SQLOLEDB.1)

Error when RowNumber is 0

Or is it when the dataset is null? Either way, my report is reporting a
Javasript error when my stored procedure returns no records. I isolated the
expression that is causing the problem. It is:
=iif( RowNumber("VisuaLabBillingRecords") Mod 2, "WhiteSmoke", "White")
which I had in the table row Background property to alternate my background
color of the rows. It works fine, except when there are no records.
Can someone tell me how to fix it without removing the expression, which is
what I did to get around it for now. I would like to have the alternating row
colors back if I can tough.
BTW, the error did not show up while I was testing under Visual Studio 2005
Pro. Everything appeared fine until I deployed to the server.
TIA
I don't think this is a replication question. Can you try perhaps the vb.net
newsgroup.

Can someone tell me how to fix it without removing the expression, which is

RowNumber is 0 or that DataRecords, which is my dataset, is null.
BTW, the error did not show up while I was testing under Visual Studio 2005
Pro in Debug mode. Everything appeared fine until I deployed to the server.
If anyone knows how I can catch this type of problem BEFORE I deploy I would
like to know also.
TIA

PS: I had accidentally posted this in the SQL Server Replication Group this
morning. I hope I have the right place (Reporting Services) this time. :-)I found the answer in another post, so the problem has been solved. I should
have searched first and I apologze for not doing that. I guess after I
realized I had posted to the wrong group earlier, I was a bit flustered
Thanks

I just change the expression to
=iif( RowNumber(Nothing)Mod 2, "WhiteSmoke", "White")
I think by defaulting the scope of RowNumber, I am actually counting the
number of rows in the table, rather than the number of rows in the Dataset,
like I was before. Since the dataset can be null, I had problems when I tried
to get the row count for a null object. But the table is never null, and thus
the row count is always save to access and thus no crash. I am not sure if my
explanaition is correct, but that is how I could explain to myself why
getting the row number of a null object worked.
If you search for RowNumber in this group you will find several posts that
refer to this problem. They all show the same solution, but no explanaition
why it works. I hope mine helps but if not at least you have the answer for
my problem.

Error viewing cube from Excel

When attempting to connect to an OLAP cube from excel. The Multidimensional Connection returns the error: "Unable to open connection. Cannot connect to the server 'myServername'. The server is either not started or too busy." Can someone please help to resolve this?

Take a look at the connection troubleshooting guide here: http://www.sqljunkies.com/WebLog/edwardm/

Another suggestion, try and repair your office installation by going through Add/Remove programs in Control panel.

Error sending mail SQL / Hotmail

Hi

Any one can help?

Thanks,

Rodrigo Vieira

Hi,

which server are you sending the mail through ?

Jens K. Suessmeyer.

Hi

Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server

|||Seems that the server is blocking the sender / rcpt combination. Some MailServer are configured not to accept outgoing mails to certain mail domains. If you are in charge of the mailserver, look at the blacklist if the hotmail domain is on the blacklist or ask your administrator to do this.

Jens K. Suessmeyer.

I don't think so, because I can send correctly using another applications with the same Mail Server.

Using Outlook Express for example.

Any tip?

Thanks,

Rodrigo Vieira

Lets clarify some things. If anything is not right, you should correct me to find the problem.

The Exchange server is inside your company, allowing SMTP relay.
You are using an account to send the emails out which is known and trusted on the SMTP server.
Your Exchange server is allowing SMTP relay with no constraints on other mail domains like hotmail.

if the above assumptions are right, you should be able to send mails to an outside mail domain, Outlook Express normally does not connect to the Exchange Server unless you allow SMTP and POP access o the mailboxes, so I guess your mailserver for sending out Outlook Express mails is anothr than the Exchange Server.
