Error when restoring database

Hi guys!
I wonder if this happened to you... I searched and found nothing related to this problem...
When I try to restore a database in SQL Server Management Studio on a 2005 database engine I receive the message:

Cannot show requested dialog.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Could not load file or assembly 'SqlManagerUI, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. Strong name validation failed. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8013141A) (mscorlib)

Strong name validation failed. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8013141A)

Sometimes I receive the same error when starting Management Studio for the connection dialog...

Thank you!

This error means that one or more of the SQL DLL's has been corrupted such that the binary data in the file no longer matches the file that was signed by Microsoft.

Most common causes of this kind of corruption:

1) Viruses or other malware
2) File system corruption
3) Failing hard drive|||I'm seeing this error too. I a reinstall indicated?|||

I have got the same ERROR message too.

Configuration:
Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 9.00.2047.00
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.50727.42
Hardware Disk Drive HTS721080G9SA00

Selim

Try rerunning the setup and repair all the components (Dont chose for a custom install)
Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Kuntal

|||Have you tried to accessing the same from another client's machine?|||

I have reinstalled Win XP Pro, then installed SQL 2005 Developer Edition + SP1
and now works fine :)

thnx,

|||Oh if you think that was easy then so be it, if it occurs next time then make sure to check.

Error when installing

Iv'e searched other forums and websites for this, but I cant solve it.

When I try to install SQL 2000 I get an error about Low Registry Quota.

Any idea on how to solve this?

Doing a quick search, I found this suggestion which helped a few people fix this problem. Can you check if this might be your problem?

Thanks,
Sam

<snip>

I have never ever had the following error message before during the
installation of SQL Server Developer Edition 2000 on a client running
Windows XP Pro SP2 using an account with administrator privileges:
"An error occurred while creating one or more registry entries. Please see
C:\Windows\sqlstp.log for details. The problem could be caused by a low
registry quota condition."

Looking on the internet I have only found several people who had the same
problem but nobody gave a solution. What I have done to find the cause for
this problem was to run the Registry Monitor tool which can be found on
sysinternals.com to monitor what was causing this "Registry error".

I saw that I got several access denies to the following registry key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.col

In RegEdit I noticed that the permissions for this key were set to
read-only. I have changed this for the Administrator to full-control and the
installation of SQL Server worked fine.

</snip>

|||Yeah, Iv'e tried that one already. Ill try it again. Thanks :)|||Didnt work :'(

Error Violation of Primary Key While Attaching Database

Hello all,
I have been trying to attach a database but it fails because of
duplicate rows (Error 2627).
I searched in the Internet for removing duplicate records but it can
only work if I manage to attach the database first (correct me if I'm
wrong). So without having the database attached to the SQL server, I
will not manage to remove the duplicate rows. But when I tried to
attach, it checks for duplicate records automatically and fail to
attach.
Is there any workaround for my case?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Garreth Goh
BTW, it is SQL 2000 with SP3.

09. Update "sysdatabases" to set the database into Emergency Mode.
10. Attach the database back. I got Emergency Mode.

export the data to a
clean database, using some combination of script objects (unless you have DD
L files to re-create
them) and for the data SELECT INTO., INSERT SELECT, BCP etc.
